Ratchet & Clank unseats Dark Souls III as UK #1

But Star Fox Zero finished the week in sixth place

The PlayStation 4 exclusive Ratchet & Clank went into the UK retail chart at number one last week, ending Dark Souls III's brief stay at the top.

The Ratchet & Clank series was created by Insomniac Games, and the first in the series was released in 2002. The ensuing 14 years has seen the launch of 14 games, including this latest release. The fact that a platform exclusive charted so high is testament to the size of the PS4's installed base, not to mention the high praise that Ratchet & Clank has received from critics - at the time of writing it had an average of 86 on Metacritic, with not one of its 77 reviews going below 75 per cent.

The only other new entry in the top ten was another console exclusive: Star Fox Zero, which was developed by Platinum Games for the Wii U, and has been more divisive among critics, landing on a Metacritic average of 71 from a broad mix of scores. Star Fox Zero entered the chart in sixth place.
