Assassin's creative director exits Ubisoft

Alexandre Amancio the latest departure from the Montreal studio

Creative director on Assassin's Creed Revelations, Alexandre Amancio, has left Ubisoft to join advertising company Cossette.

"Video games and advertising have many common elements. In both industries, we are always looking for new ways to engage the consumer to the brand," Amancio said on Cossette's official site.

"In addition, like advertising, the video game industry must now take into account and supply a very important social dimension in its development and strategies. The game is no longer just a game, it's a community, relations between players, and the brand. "

He joined Ubisoft in 2005, working on franchises like Far Cry and Assassin's Creed. It is yet another high profile exit for the publisher and developer, following the departure of Patrice Patrice Désilets in 2010 and the ensuing court case.

Amancio will act as head of the creative team at Cossette Montreal.

"The video game industry is a very progressive industry which we can learn," added Cossette GM Melanie Dunn.

"The arrival of Alexandre will allow us to push the boundaries on this side. In recent years, Alexandre has evolved into an industry in the process of creating very complex. He had to manage large production sites composed of multidisciplinary teams, anywhere in the world. This knowledge and expertise will be important assets for us in the coming years."
